SARA J. PREMI
Sara received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from
Carleton University in Ottawa in 1988. Part of that degree was completed on an
exchange program at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Sara received
her LL.B. from the University of Ottawa Law School graduating in 1992 and was
called to the Bar in 1994. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada
and the Lincoln County Law Association. Sara is also a member of the Canadian
Bar Association - Environmental Law Section
Sara's practice focuses on
municipal, municipal land use, environment and
policing matters. She was a part-time instructor of Environmental Law at
Niagara College for five (5) years. Sara taught a post-graduate program that
specialized in the environmental assessment process also with an emphasis on
the Environmental Protection Act and the Ontario Water Resources
Act.
Sara has extensive experience in municipal licencing
matters, including drafting by-laws, conducting licencing suspension or
revocation hearings, and licencing prosecutions. Sara's experience in
Provincial Offences Court is extensive. She has acted for numerous
municipalities with respect to Building Code, Fire Code and by-law matters.
Sara has also defended many individuals, municipalities and corporations with
respect to provincial offences.
Sara regularly attends before municipal tribunals
such as the Ontario Municipal Board. In addition, she regularly appears before
municipal councils. |
