C. HUGH MAHONEY, Q.C. KCSG.
Hugh Mahoney was called to the Bar of the Supreme
Court of Ontario and admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada on June 19,
1947, after graduation from the University of Montreal (Loyola College) and
Osgoode Hall Law School. Hugh served as an officer in the Royal Canadian Navy
(RCNVR) during the Second World War.
Hugh has continuously practiced law in the city of
St. Catharines and the Niagara Peninsula area since 1950, and has participated
throughout the evolution of practicing law as a "general practitioner" in law.
His practice has involved both litigation and
solicitor's work in the fields of real property,
corporate commercial, estate administration and
administrative tribunals involving planning
and zoning matters.
Hugh is a former member and trustee of the St.
Catharines Public School Board, and a former member and chair of the St.
Catharines Public Library Board and the Board of Governors of Denis Morris High
School. On February 12, 1999 Hugh was appointed a Knight Commander of the Order
of St. Gregory the Great, one of the Pontifical Equestrian Orders, by his
Holiness Pope John Paul II. |
